Car aquaplanes then crashes on the Hume Hwy, NSW
Dash cam footage from a car aquaplaning and crashing on the Hume Hwy in New South Wales serves as a warning to take care on wet roads this winter. It shows how a simple puddle can cause a big headache.
While travelling at around 100 km/h in heavy rain, the car hits a large puddle and begins to slide, when the driver tries to correct the situation the car gains sudden traction and jerks towards the shoulder of the road, and the trees beyond.
Trying to avoid the trees, the driver turns hard to the left, avoiding a head on collision with a large bush.
The rear of the car however, strikes the bush, causing the car to spin around wildly. A passer by can then be seen pullimg over to make sure the driver is ok. Luckily the driver escaped shaken but not seriously hurt.
